Lesbian Herstory Archives Presents Marathon Book Reading - Maybe Meet Smart Girls!

A whole different sort of fun will continue into the wee hours of morning this weekend if you’re game. If you adore Audre Lorde and Adrienne Rich as much as we do then join the Lesbian Herstory Archives this Saturday in celebrating their lives with a marathon reading of their brilliant poetry, essays and unpublished papers, including readings from Lorde’s Zami and Rich’s Institution of Motherhood.

If reading isn’t your thing—no worries, you can still help us celebrate! A display of artifacts from their archival collections and a photo exhibition will be presented as well. Plus, smart girls love history and reading right? It could be the perfect place to meet that adorable nerd you've been dreaming about.

The occasion encourages you to share your personal memories of how these outstanding figures in feminism have contributed to your own work and life, for anyone who would like to share. This joint celebration not only honors their contributions to feminist thought and activism but also marks the 20th year anniversary of their passing. Enjoy light refreshments throughout the day amongst fans and friends alike.

The Details:A suggested donation of $5-$10 will be accepted at the door. The Lesbian Herstory Archives are located at 484 14th Street, Brooklyn, New York 11215. The event takes place this Saturday, November 17th from 12noon-12midnight.
