J.K. Rowling was minding her own business on Twitter today, celebrating the news that Ireland became the first country to legalize same-sex marriage. In a tweet, she supported the idea that Dumbledore and Gandalf should marry in the Emerald Isle.

Pink News, a U.K. gay news website, covered the tweet in an article, which inspired the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), who constantly fights to stay relevant, to include her in a homophobic tweet to Pink News.
“JK Rowling wants Dumbledore & Gandalf to marry in Ireland! https://t.co/jHKAqUAyZM”— PinkNews (@PinkNews) 1432658854
Westboro Baptist Church added Rowling's Twitter handle to the fire, and said:
None— PinkNews (@PinkNews) 1432658854
Rowling, the anti-homophobic saviour of muggles and wizards everywhere, snapped back:
“.@WBCsigns Alas, the sheer awesomeness of such a union in such a place would blow your tiny bigoted minds out of your thick sloping skulls.”— PinkNews (@PinkNews) 1432658854
A random Twitter user attacked Rowling for being "counterproductive" by engaging the attention-hungry WBC, and she let them hear it:
“I don't care about WBC. I think it's important that scared gay kids who aren't out yet see hate speech challenged. https://t.co/XumjDmEjuw”— J.K. Rowling (@J.K. Rowling) 1432714516
