Your highness has returned!

Since its debut during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, audiences have loved escaping into the satirical drama The Great. Now with the third season about to premiere, Elle Fanning has a taste of what fans can expect.

"There's so many secrets. There's too many twists and surprises. We start off pretty much where we left off with Peter and Catherine. They're in a tough spot," Fanning tells PRIDE.

Without spoiling the season two plot, Peter (played by Nicholas Hoult) does some pretty unforgivable things to Catherine and season three shows the events following the aftermath.

"Catherine got even. It's all balancing out. They are in marriage counseling for it. There's a marriage witch. Catherine's trying to lead the country the best they can [and] they want to be a happy family together. Can that happen?"

Fans of the award-winning series will truly be shocked at what they'll watch in season three. Nicholas Hoult even revealed the bumpy ride he took on set while filming the new episodes.

"First of all, I just really love reading these scripts. They're so unexpected and funny. It's always exciting for us to unpack those. When we start filming the series, normally we only get the first two scripts. Midway through shooting those first two episodes, we get three and four and so on. You're living it but also experiencing it as you go, which is wonderful," Hoult tells PRIDE.

Between her successful film and TV projects, Fanning is still checking off plenty of dreams off her bucket list, including attending this year's Met Gala.

"I do believe in manifestation. There's been some weird things that have happened lately. I feel like I manifested this! I love doing this and I'm happy that I'm still doing this. I started so young and I've been in the business so long. To still be surprised by it and still have that passion grow more and more is really special. I just turned 25 and I feel like some new energy has hit me. I love the number 5, so I knew this was going to be a good year. I'm excited for what's to come!"

The Great premieres Friday, May 12 on Hulu. To see the full interview with Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult, check out the video below.
