Instagram Brought Back Chronological Feeds — Here's How to Get It

If there's one thing we kind of hate about social media, it's the importance placed on the algorithms.
Look: we get it. Social media companies are trying to build businesses. Since the platforms are free, our attention spans are the product. That means that keeping users logged in for as long as possible (which means they could possibly show you more ads) is paramount. And, as much as we hate to admit it, you simply spend more time with feeds curated by an algorithm than chronologically — this is true both statistically and anecdotally. But now, some social media companies are giving us options.
After years of Instagram's dreaded and often changing formula, the company has hidden away an option for a chronological feed. While the algorithm is the default, with a few simple clicks, you could be viewing posts from people you haven't seen in forever.
Sorry but this is self-explanatory.
You may have always thought it's just a logo, but apparently, it's now a drop-down.
Yeah, baby! Give it to me in the way they were posted.
If you want a happy medium between chronological and the algorithm, you can select your favorites and Instagram will curate them in a specific feed. You can find the option in the same drop-down as Following. Names you select will also receive extra weight in your general algorithm feed.
