For those who remain unaware, Netflix's House of Cards is one of the best shows of today. It is brilliantly written, flawlessly acted, and perfectly directed. In fact, one of the only complaints we have is overly-lengthy opening credits. But that's a quick fix.

So, when Netflix released the latest teaser for the upcoming season, it had us feeling all kinds of things. It was a roller coaster, really. Twenty-four seconds of feels.

Here's a taste of what we experienced:

1. Just straight up terror

We're not sure if it's Kevin Spacey's performance as Frank Underwood, the dramatic music that always seems to be playing at the perfect time, or the somber and generally heavy tone of the show, but House of Cards really knows how to put the audience on the edge of their seats. This teaser was no exception.

Perhaps it's because the whole thing is an allusion to one of the most heinous acts the show has ever seen -- the infamous subway station scene back in season 2, episode 1.

Chills.

2. Pure excitement

A teaser for a new season of a show is supposed to get you pumped. It's supposed to assure that you are going to be right there on your couch, ready to watch as soon as the show premieres.

Mission accomplished, HoC. Mission accomplished.

excited

3. Previously forgotten sadness

As mentioned already, everything about the teaser -- from it being set in a subway station, to the flowers on the tracks, Frank looking triumphant over it, the speeding train -- all of it was designed to remind us of one very particular, very infamous moment. It did just that.

And, if you're like us, it brought you back to that exact moment, and made you shocked and sad all over again.

4. Doubt and hesitation

Are we ready for this? We don't know. Can we handle this next season? Not sure. What kinds of surprising twists and turns await us this fourth time around? We'll see.

hesitant

5. Complete awe

The fact that a 24-second teaser can make us feel all of this just goes to show the power this series has, and the stunningly high quality and standards the show holds itself to.

awe
