Rosé is giving the gays the gift of a new holiday bop. You’re gonna want to unwrap this one ASAP.
The Drag Race alum and singer shared her new song, a cover of the holiday standard “Santa Baby”.
Speaking with Queerty, Rosé shared her love of the Eartha Kitt classic. “I have always adored ‘Santa Baby’,” Rosé said. “I love its naughty, sexy mood, and its femininity. My version pays homage to Eartha Kitt’s, Madonna’s, and Gwen Stefani’s but I make the song my own by peppering in some light percussion and a few string moments. Also, my ‘Santa Baby’ is almost 100% vocal, and the voice is of a cis man.”
Not only is the song now available to stream, but the sexy video also dropped and you have to see it. In the video, directed by Austin Nunes and choreographed by Miguel Zarate, Rosé lays out her list of holiday demands with the help of a bevy of hot (harnessed) backup dancers.
Rosé is known as part of the drag trio Stephanie’s Child alongside Jan Sport and Lagoona Bloo, but this video shows off her solo star power. Give it a watch below and see where it ranks among the previous covers including those from the likes of Madonna, Ariana Grande, and Gwen Stefani.
Nope! The two are just friends.
Rosé won three maxi challenges in season 13 of RuPaul's Drag Race. She was the winner of episode 8, 11, and 13.
