16 New Year's Resolutions the Entire LGBT+ Community Should Consider
“Accept yourself fully.”
2016 wasn’t the brightest time in LGBT history, but hell it definitely wasn’t the worst. Now, more than ever, our community needs to introspectively look at ourselves and see how we can continue to move forward in a positive direction as a whole.
From personal growth, to how we treat others, to larger and much bigger initiatives, here are 16 New Year’s resolutions the entire LGBT+ community should consider in 2017.
1. Accept yourself fully.
2. Rid judgment from your life.
3. Fall (and stay) in love.
4. Remain loyal to your partner. (This doesn’t necessarily mean remain monogamous, this means stay within the guidelines of your relationship.)
5. Stop shaming each other.
6. Try to listen to the other-side of the argument. (Bitch, I know it's hard.)

7. Get tested more often.
8. Spend less time on your phone.
9. Stop falling victim to bullying. (Meaning don't let bullying effect you. Be stronger than they are!)
10. Join a cause you’re passionate about. (In Trump's America, this is more important than ever.)
11. Date outside of your type.
12. Stop falling for stigmas. (Racial stigmas, gender stigmas, HIV stigma, sexual stigmas—there are so many...)
13. Be nicer.

14. Cut negative people out of your life.
15. Detox. (For a week, for a month, for a year, however long you need.)
16. Stop making multiple New Year’s resolutions and instead focus on one overall evolution.
