Pokénerds rejoice, two new video games are coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year!

Fresh off the success of Pokémon Arceus, Nintendo has announced two more open-world adventures for fans to explore. They revealed a new trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, a release date, and the three new starters: Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxley!

"Various towns blend seamlessly into the wilderness with no borders," the official description reads. "You’ll be able to see the Pokémon of this region in the skies, in the seas, in the forests, on the streets—all over! You’ll be able to experience the true joy of the Pokémon series—battling against wild Pokémon in order to catch them—now in an open-world game that players of any age can enjoy."

After the announcement, "Weed Cat" quickly began trending on social media as fans obsessed over Sprigatito. The gays latched on to another starter though. Quaxley!

When began as fan art rapidly devolved into claiming the duck was a part of the LGBTQ+ community. The insanity incited all the commentary and memes you'd expect from Gay Twitter.

Take a look below:

Which starter will you be choosing when the game is released later this year?
