Tessa Thompson’s New Valkyrie Outfit Leaked & Thor Fans Are Screaming

Tessa Thompson is breaking the internet with what looks to be the latest iteration of Valkyrie’s wardrobe in Thor: Love and Thunder.

A leaked mirror selfie from set shows Tessa all dressed up and ready for battle in a fierce, sleeveless outfit complete with fingerless gloves. Swoon.

The upcoming installation in the world of Thor will see Valkyrie sitting on the throne of New Asgard — and according to Tessa, she’ll also be looking for her queen. It’s not entirely if that comment was a joke or foreshadowing of the canonical bisexuality to come, but Tessa and director Taika Waititi have both been forthright about hoping for Valkyrie’s queerness to make the jump from comics to screen.

“I think it’s really important for everybody, but for young people especially, to be able to show up to those movies and see projections of themselves,” she told Variety in 2020. “So I’m really excited that we’re able to do that with Valkyrie. Because there’s so many cool queer characters in the comic books, and they should have a place on screen.”

Let’s be real — Tessa’s Valkyrie could walk around in a trash bag and still find herself an Asgardian (or human) queen in a nanosecond. But that outfit is certainly going to help move things along.

Not much is known about Thor: Love and Thunder as of yet, but we do know we’ll get to see Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) pick up Thor’s hammer and fight against a new villain, Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) — hopefully with Valkyrie by her side.

As for Valkyrie’s potential quest for love, we’ll have to wait till the expected July 8 release to see how that plays out. And after seeing this sneak peek? That’s going to be a long, long wait.
