Originally planned for Friday, June 11, Loki will now be premiering on Wednesday, June 9, with star Tom Hiddleston saying "Wednesdays are the new Fridays" in a brand new announcement video!
Following WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki is Disney+'s third original MCU Phase 4 TV series and features the canonically queer God of Mischief "as he steps out of his brother’s shadow after the events of Avengers: Endgame," the show's official description reads. "Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku, and Richard E. Grant. Kate Herron directs Loki and Michael Waldron is head writer."
"Start your countdown to the glorious arrival of Marvel Studios' @OfficialLoki," Marvel wrote, sharing the first official Loki poster on social media. "The Original Series starts streaming June 11 on @DisneyPlus."
Though longtime beloved Hiddleston will star in the Disney+ show, We Got This Covered is also reporting that multiple actors are going to be used to play multiple versions (and ages) of Thor's mischievous AF sibling.
While neither Disney nor Marvel Studios has confirmed these reports, we're being optimistic, and it's still exciting to think that modern superhero media as we know it is getting more and more inclusive as the years go by, and we can't wait to see if this rumor becomes true! Queer Loki is what we've been waiting so long to see!!
