"I would've gotten a call by now," the British and former Spider-Man star said.

If you were (like many of us) expecting some kind of epic, multiverse Spidey reunion with all three live-action Spider-Man actors in Sony and Marvel Studio's upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home film, you might want to lower some of your expectations, because apparently, Andrew Garfield didn't even get a call to take part in the project.

In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz for his podcast Happy Sad Confused, the British heartthrob (who is currently promoting his latest indie project Mainstream, directed by Gia Coppola) finally addressed those longstanding rumors of being a part of No Way Home

"There isn't anything to ruin, bro!" Andrew said, laughingly cutting off Horowitz as he started talking about Spider-Man. "I had to quickly cut you off. There's nothing to ruin."

Speaking about the passion that fans have for a possible, all-encompassing Spider-Man film, he continued:

"It's so crazy. Dude, it's f***ing hilarious to me. I do have this Twitter account and I see how often Spider-Man is trending and it's people freaking out about a thing. I wish I could be able to speak to everyone and just say, 'I recommend that you chill.'"

"I would've gotten a call by now, that's all I'm saying," he then said, revealing that he hasn't even been contacted by anyone at Sony or Marvel to make a No Way Home cameo. "I don't want to ruin anything. Maybe they're going to call me and say, 'Hey, people want this!' Maybe it's a market research thing..."

As much as we would love for Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland to all share screen space as their own versions of Peter Parker, maybe it's for the best. After all, we still can't forget those infamous Sony email leaks where it was revealed that there is a contractual obligation that Spider-Man be white and heterosexual. Considering how badly he wanted and pushed for a bisexual Spidey movie to happen before his time as the friendly neighborhood crime fighter was cut short, we think Andrew definitely deserves better.
