Are we one step closer to finally seeing the LGBTQ-inclusive superhero squad on-screen?!?

Good news Marvel stans! It looks like we might be one step closer to seeing a queer-inclusive, on-screen Young Avengers project come to fruition — all thanks to the newest episode of Marvel Studios' Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier!

Warning! Spoilers ahead!

In this week's latest episode (S1E2), possibly bisexual Bucky (Sebastian Stan) and Sam (Anthony Mackie) make a trip to Baltimore to visit super soldier and Korean War veteran Isaiah Bradley (a.k.a. Black Captain America). When they get to his house, they are (reluctantly) greeted at the door by Isaiah's grandson Elijah "Eli" Bradley, who, in the comics, takes on the Patriot mantle as a member of the Young Avengers

Although his appearance was super brief (he probably said no more than 20 words), diehard Marvel fans immediately took to the internet to voice their excitement that yet another Young Avengers member has made their on-screen debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

If you're a Young Avengers reader, then you already know the series is already very diverse and very queer-friendly. The lineup of characters includes openly lesbian, Latinx badass America Chavez, (one of our fave geeky queer ships of all time) Hulkling (or Theodore "Teddy" Altman) and his fiancé Wiccan (aka William "Billy" Kaplan), and bisexual Hawkeye heir Kate Bishop.

Kate will be played by Dickinson star Hailee Steinfeld in the upcoming live-action Hawkeye show for Disney+, America already has her own Disney+ title, Miss America, in the works, Hulking, a canonically queer Kree hero who made their first appearance in the Young Avengers comic in 2005, is rumored to be featured in Brie Larson's upcoming Captain Marvel 2, and Billy was introduced as one of Wanda and Vision's twin sons in the hit WandaVision series.

The introduction of Patriot into the MCU would be rounding out an incredibly stacked lineup of fresh, new, superhero faces that many casual fans still aren't familiar with yet, so we can't wait to see what the future has in store!
