Get ready, LGBTQ+ geeks! Golden Globe winner and eternal heartthrob Matt Bomer is set to play The Flash in an upcoming, animated DC Universe film!
According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision vertical, the voice cast for DC and Warner Bros.' Justice Society: World War II was just recently announced, and the Magic Mike and The Boys in the Band star will be voicing longtime comic hero The Flash!
No stranger to the DC world, Matt has a main role in the queer-inclusive HBO Max series Doom Patrol and previously voiced Clark Kent himself in the 2013 animated feature Superman: Unbound, THR points out.
This isn't the first time an out, LGBTQ+ actor has had the honor of playing The Flash. Queer Fantastic Beasts star Ezra Miller played the Barry Allen version of The Flash in 2017's live-action Justice League film, and a stand-alone flick starring Ezra has been in the works for a while, though his involvement in the project is still up in the air following an extremely controversial 2020 incident where a viral video started making the rounds on the internet that showed Ezra physically choking a female fan in Iceland.
While no release date has been formally announced yet, we can't wait to see (or rather hear) Matt in action as one of our all-time fave comic book characters, kickin' some butt in Justice Society: World War II! The more Matt content in our lives, the better!
