You know the old saying, "Ask and you shall receive?" Well trust us, we've been asking for some kind of official confirmation about the sixth season of Lucifer ever since it was rumored that Netflix would indeed be bringing it back, and it looks like all that asking paid off!

The streaming service took to Twitter earlier this morning to confirm that yes, Tom Ellis' Lucifer Morningstar will be gracing our screens for one more final season!

"The devil made us do it," Netflix tweeted, making fun of how everyone thought the show's upcoming fifth season would be its last. "Lucifer will return for a sixth and final season. Like, FINAL final."

And it's a good time to be a Lucifer stan! The news of the cult-favorite Netflix series' season 6 renewal comes on the heels of the reveal for the releasae date of the first half of season 5 (August 21).

Earlier this month, PRIDE reported that Ellis was totally on-board to reprise the titular role of Lucifer Morningstar for a sixth round, and he and the Netflix series' showrunners were currently still in negotiations for a triumphant return. Though contract negotiations came to a halt in April of this year because of some issues that CinemaBlend previously reported on, they are now apparently resolved, because now, Lucifer season 6 is officially on the horizon!

Season 5 of Lucifer premieres August 21 on Netflix!
