Ever since his casting was announced earlier this year, we've been patiently waiting for trans model and activist Chella Man to make his debut on DC Universe's Titans series. "As a Deaf individual who uses sign language on a daily basis, his primary mode of communication hits close to home," Man tweeted along with the first clip where we get to see him play superhero Jericho.
For those not familiar with the character, Jericho is the "son of the infamous DC villain Deathstroke (played by Esai Morales)" according to DC's character description. "Mute after his father failed to rescue him from having his vocal cords severed by assassins, Jericho has the unique ability to possess anyone just by making eye contact. This gentle natured yet proud hero has proven himself a formidable Titan."
About the groundbreaking role, Chella continued:
"I RARELY saw sign authentically represented growing up, so this opportunity made my heart soar. I hope to make you all proud!
Catch more of Chella in season 2 of Titans, which airs new episodes weekly on DC Universe!
