Why Won't the 'Ion Fury' Devs Remove Homophobic Jokes From the Game?
Nerd Out host Jessie Gender dives deep into the "censorship" controversy surrounding Ion Fury developers Voidpoint.
Voidpoint, the developers behind the recently released first-person shooter game Ion Fury, caused quite the controversy earlier this month after members of the team made a series of transphobic and sexist comments on Discord. After landing in more hot water after it was revealed that homophobic slurs and jokes were found in the video game itself, the Voidpoint team issued an apology and promised to donate $10,000 to The Trevor Project and remove any anti-gay slurs and jokes from Ion Fury.
But now Voidpoint is backtracking, and are now saying they won't be giving into "censorship" and will not be altering the game.
So what the heck is going on? And why did Voidpoint issue an apology, but then also kinda take it all back?
