Kevin Feige Confirms 'The Eternals' Will Get a Married Gay Character

"He's married, he's got a family, and that is just part of who he is," the Marvel Studios president told Good Morning America.

We've been reporting on The Eternals every step of the way ever since rumors started circulating that the upcoming Marvel Studios film would be featuring an explicity gay superhero. Well, after a recent interview Kevin Feige gave to Good Morning America at D23 Expo this past weekend, it looks like that rumor is actually going to become a reality!

"He's married, he's got a family, and that is just part of who he is," the Marvel Studios president told GMA about a mysterious gay character when talking about the diversity of the highly-anticipated project that includes the likes of Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Kit Harington, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, and Brian Tyree Henry. Although he didn't specify who this character was or whether or not he was a superhero, it's exciting to know that, after a decade and 23 films, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is finally going to get some explicitly queer representation.

During San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year, it was confirmed that openly bi actress Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie is officially the MCU's first queer hero, so whoever this mystery gay character in The Eternals is will be keeping good company!

Suffice it to say, we can't freakin' wait for The Eternals to finally hit theaters in November 2020!
