Bad news Spider-Man fans. It looks like the future of the web-slingin' superteen and his involvement in the wildly popular Marvel Cinematic Universe is now up in the air.

According to a report by Deadline, because Disney-owned Marvel Studios has yet to reach a deal with Sony Pictures about co-financing, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige will no longer serve as a producer on future Spider-Man movies, leaving the character's involvement in the MCU now unknown.
The two movie studios have been in talks for months about the new terms of their deal with Spider-Man, Deadline also reports.
Tom Holland's version of Spider-Man (aka Peter Parker) first joined the MCU in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, and has since starred in two solo films, Far From Home and Homecoming, and appeared in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. He's become a fan-favorite MCU character since then, and unsurprisingly, people are upset by all this news.
The good news, Variety reports, is that talks between Marvel Studios and Sony are still ongoing, so a deal could very well be reached sometime in the near future.
For now, though, it looks like the MCU will have one less friendly neighborhood Spider-Man in their ranks. This won't be the first time Spidey went away...
