Steven Universe: The Movie Poster Reveals Villain & 2-Year Time Jump
Who is that mystery gem?!?!
Steven Universe: The Movie has been teased since last year's San Diego Comic-Con, but we're just now getting a full glimpse of our beloved Crystal Gems!
A new poster shows Amythst, Garnet, Pearl, and Steven sporting some exciting new looks! Most notably, Steven looks a bit larger than his normal size and he's got a fresh pink bomber jacket. Fans are speculating that the movie will jump forward in time, and renovations to the beach house and a large unknown structure looming in the background of the poster support that theory.
We also get a clear shot of the film's villain, hovering over the gang menacingly with pigtails and an upside-down, heart-shaped gem.
Who is the mystery gem? We have no other details besides the film's description: "Steven thinks his time defending the Earth is over, but when a new threat comes to Beach City, Steven faces his biggest challenge yet."
And following fan obsession with Steven's new neck in the animation, Cartoon Network also just confirmed that the movie will jump forward 2-years.
We learned earlier this year that Steven Universe: The Movie will be a musical featuring Chance the Rapper, Gallant, Patti LuPone, Estelle, and more!
