Wilson Cruz Is Shooting His Shot to Be a Marvel Superhero
Although we love, love, LOVE superhero movies (we cover them extensively!), we'd be remiss if we didn't mention that there is still a lot of work that needs to be done when it comes to equal representation (especially for queer actors and queer characters) in the genre.
So out Star Trek: Discovery star Wilson Cruz is taking matters into his own hands to try and change things.

"Hey, @MarvelStudios , #chloezhao, give a brother a call," Cruz wrote on Twitter yesterday alongside a shirtless picture of himself looking impressive AF. "#NoShame."
Cruz's tweet was a marvelous attempt to shoot his shot at becoming Marvel Studio's first openly gay man to play a superhero in the MCU. Chloe Zhao, the filmmaker he mentioned in his tweet, is set to direct the upcoming project The Eternals, and according to some of our previous reporting, Marvel execs are supposedly looking for an openly gay actor between the ages of 30 and 49, who "physically looks like a superhero" to play a role. If Cruz's muscle-bound pic is anything to go by, he'd be PERFECT for this project...
While we never know what the future may hold, we're crossing our fingers and everything else we can cross to make sure the universe knows we want the prospect of Wilson being in a Marvel movie to become a reality!
