In case you missed it, the final trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was just released last night!
Although we finally got to see some exciting new clips of the Rebel Scum we've grown to love over the past five years finally banding together to go on one last adventure, what we were most excited to see was the promise of some extended interaction between Resistance pilot Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) and ex-stormtrooper turned hero Finn (John Boyega). Ever since the two met in 2015's The Force Awakens, the internet has been shipping the two non-stop, with hopes of them becoming the Star Wars movie franchise's first explicitly LGBTQ+ characters. While Isaac and Boyega have both expressed that they would be totally down for both their characters to have their sexualities explored/confirmed on-screen, it has yet to happen, and with the Skywalker saga coming to a close this December, #FinnPoe shippers are really starting to get anxious...
Still, they quickly took to Twitter to publicly fangirl about seeing their faves in the new Rise of Skywalker trailer, as well as to express their hopes about what happens to the two in the upcoming film.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see...
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20!
