And she looks BADASS.

This fan-made poster for the upcoming Captain Marvel film (starring Oscar winner Brie Larson in the titular role) has us shaking in anticipation!

While many fans are tagging artist Boss Logic on social media whenever they post the badass poster, they have said that it isn’t them, and have asked for the real artist to step forward. (So far, they are MIA.)

The fake Captain Marvel poster has been tripping up the best of us—even longtime Star Trek producer Bryan Fuller!

Set during the '90s, Captain Marvel is exploring a world with less superhero action than the current Marvel Universe (currently knee deep in an Infinity War) is dealing with. The movie promises to explain why Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot whose DNA is exposed to that of the alien race the Kree during a military accident giving her amazing powers, has been AWOL on the scene until that brief teaser nestled at the end of Avengers: Infinity War

The movie will definitely feature some familiar faces. Samuel L. Jackson is there as a younger Nick Fury. Clark Gregg will also be back as fan-favorite Agent Coulson. Tying the movie to the more intergalactic edges of the MCU, Lee Pace will also be reprising his role as Ronan the Accuser, the Kree villain who was defeated in the first the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Captain Marvel is also slated to be a comedy-action flick, a combo that has worked real well for Marvel and that matches Carol Danver’s sassy, snarky attitude.

Brie Larson is a bit young for a toughened Air Force pilot, but they worked closely with the Air Force to be sure she could realistically be the soldier she is. Larson meet with many in the armed forces, including Brigadier General Jeannie Leavitt, the first female fighter pilot. While hesitant to take a role in the MCU, a move that can define a career for better or for worse, Larson said she couldn’t turn down making a role model she wished she had had.

"It took me a really long time. I had to sit with myself, think about my life and what I want out of it," Larson said in an interview with Vanity Fair. "Ultimately, I couldn’t deny the fact that this movie is everything I care about, everything that’s progressive and important and meaningful, and a symbol I wished I would’ve had growing up. I really, really feel like it’s worth it if it can bring understanding and confidence to young women—I’ll do it."

So far it looks to be a good choice. According to Kevin Feige, Marvel Studio’s president and producer, "Captain Marvel has powers that far surpass many of her heroic counterparts, and in order to bring this superhero to life and make her relatable and disarming we needed an actress with both range and humanity, so, like the best of our leading characters who have brought the Marvel Universe to life, Brie possesses the depth and energy that can fuse firepower, guts, and a great story."

Although we can't wait to finally see a Captain Marvel film, this won’t be the first time parts of Carol Danvers' story have been told on screen (although in a vague sense). Much of the X-Men Rogue’s primary powers come from her absorbing too much of Carol’s powers, permanently. Now that Disney owns the X-Men, it will be interesting to see if these stories crash together, as well as how Captain Marvel will tie together the Guardians of the Galaxy and it’s Nova Corp into the world of earth in a post-Infinity War universe.
