Showtime Cancels Ziwe After Two Seasons & Fans Arent Taking It Well
Showtime's iconic late-night talk show Ziwe has been canceled.
Hosted by comedian Ziwe Fumudoh, the show boasted musical numbers, sketches, and some incredible guests including Drew Barrymore, Amber Riley, Julia Fox, Chat Hanks, Wayne Brady, Bob the Drag Queen, and more. The half-hour series took a comedic and satirical edge on topics of race, sexuality, and pop culture and cemented Ziwe as a pop culture and fashion sensation.
The news of its cancellation comes with the news of Showtime preparing for an upcoming merger with Paramount+, and Ziwe is just another one of the casualties along with The Wood and L Word: Generation Q. Though the show surely did not have the biggest streaming numbers, it regularly created a series of viral moments and a loyal fanbase. Speaking of which, those fans are not taking the cancelation well.
“Just woke up and it looks like Ziwe being cancelled wasn’t a nightmare… I hate it here,” one fan tweeted. "Literally cannot imagine canceling ziwe, she is a viral megastar. this show catapulted her into high celebrity, that doesn't happen bc no one is watching!! loser behavior tbh," said another viewer.

Ziwe has not yet publically commented on the show's cancelation.
Though fans are currently in mourning, others are hopeful that another network (more suited to Ziwe's intended audience and reach) will pick up the late-night talk show for season three. We're looking at you Netflix/Hulu/Amazon Prime/HBO Max/ummm... Tubi? We'll take what we can get!
