The countdown for season two of Yellowjackets has begun, which means more and more pieces of information have been slowly finding their way into the hands of eagerly awaiting fans. But now, the real tease is finally here — a new trailer.
We spent the first season of the show watching two timelines play out at once — a high school soccer team’s plane crashing down in the wilderness forcing them to fight for survival, as well as following a handful of the survivors 25 years later as things that happened during that time come back to haunt them.
The finale answered one major question with heartbreak, and asked a number of others. Who kidnapped Natalie? What’s up with Taissa’s creepy altar? Why and when did Lottie create a cult? Who else from the 1996 timeline has been alive this whole time?
The new trailer, of course, doesn’t answer any of these questions, but it does its job getting us hyped up for everything to come, promising to send both the teenaged and adult characters deeper down the rabbit hole.
Perhaps our most telling clue as to what is to come in season two is when Natalie (Juliette Lewis) is asked to think back to her experiences and share what she sees.
“Darkness,” she replies. “We brought it back with us.”
Season two will see the return of most of the cast members from season one, while adding Lauren Ambrose, Elijah Wood, and Simone Kessell, along with appearances from Nuha Jes Izman, Nicole Maines, François Arnaud, Nia Sondaya, and Jason Ritter.
