Yasmin Finney Teases Elle & Tao Relationship In Heartstopper Season 2

New episodes of Heartstopper are just around the corner, and Yasmin Finney is giving fans a little bit of insight about what to expect for her character in season two.

Speaking on a Netflix panel about the series recently, Finney dished on the chemistry and expected upcoming relationship between Elle and Tao Xu (William Gao).

“I can’t spill too much information, but what you should know is our relationship definitely blossoms into something beautiful, which is very amazing to say — finally,” she said. “But it’s very exciting. Elle and Tao is something that’s been a rollercoaster of emotions, just the journey from season one to season two.”

In January, Netflix released a deleted scene from season one that featured Elle and Tao at a sleepover talking about how much they miss one another, adding fuel to the fire for shippers everywhere.

But Finney also warned that fans hoping for romance might be disappointed in one aspect of season two.

“We actually don’t kiss, that’s the sad thing,” she admitted.

Heartstopper has already been renewed for season three, meaning that there’s still time for even more of an evolution of the relationship between Elle and Tao in the future, in addition to whatever takes place between them coming up.

“There’s so many things that happen with Elle this season that you’re not ready for,” Finney previously said.
