FX has officially dropped the trailer for Season 5 of FX’s What We Do In The Shadows, and we could not be more excited.
The series, which is based on the popular New Zealand-based film of the same name by Jermaine Clement and Taika Waititi, follows the nightly adventures of vampire roommates Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasha Demetriou) and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) as they try to navigate the modern world in Staten Island alongside their human familiar, Guillermo (Harvey Guillén), and their “vampire bureaucrat acquaintance,” The Guide (Kristen School).
The fifth season explores the relationship between Guillermo and Nandor, who feels that his familiar is slipping away as he starts to hang out more with Laszlo. As Laszlo tries to solve the mystery of the changes within Guillermo, his skills as a gentleman scientist are put to the test.
While that’s going on, Nadja reconnects with her family (or so she thinks) after suffering the effects of a previously-undiagnosed supernatural hex. Colin also runs for political office and pursues the path of many “energy vampires” before him, and The Guide tries her best to fit in with a tightly-knit group that’s known each other for centuries.
Clement and Waititi continue to serve as Executive Producers alongside Paul Simms, Sam Johnson, Garrett Basch and Eli Bush.
Season 5 of What We Do In The Shadows premieres with two episodes on Thursday, July 13 at 10p ET/PT on FX, and streams on Hulu. Watch the trailer below.
