Netflix has a whole host of reality tv shows about straight people finding love — borrring! — but we finally got a queer version and we couldn’t be happier!
The Ultimatum: Queer Love is the newest love-based reality tv show from the streaming giant that features a cast of five queer couples made up exclusively of queer women and nonbinary people.
In this spinoff of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On, each couple on the show is struggling with the decision to get married. For one partner marriage is a deal breaker, but the other isn’t sure they’re ready to settle down. To help them make this tough decision, the couples will split up and choose someone else to date from the group. “Among this group of queer folks, the possibilities are endless,” according to Netflix. The contestants will then experience two trial marriages, one with their original partner and one with someone new.
Made by the same creators as Love is Blind, the show will be hosted by JoAnna García Swisher, who you likely know from Freaks and Geeks, Reba, and the Netflix show Sweet Magnolias.
The first four episodes of the new show are available on Netflix now and the rest will be released on May 31 and June 7.

Mildred Woody (33, she/her) and Tiff Der (32, they/them)
The couple have been together for two year after meeting when Tiff slid into Mildred’s DMs. Mildred, who has a teenage son, issued the ultimatum to Tiff who is a little gun shy after going through a prior divorce and is worried that their communication skills are a red flag.
Vanessa Papa (30, she/her) and Xander Boger (30, she/her/they)

Aussie Chau (42, Aussie) and Sam Mark (31, she/her)
The pair met in an online LGBTQ+ social group during the pandemic and have now been together for a year and a half. Even though Sam is 11 years younger, she’s given Aussie the ultimatum. Aussie thinks they shouldn’t rush into anything and should live together longer before taking the plunge.
