The Surreal Life is heading back to MTV for its eighth season, and the full cast lineup has just been announced!
The popular reality show gained attention in the aughts for throwing a bunch of celebrities into a mansion and pitting them against one another in various challenges, inevitably prompting drama to ensue. It first premiered on The WB in 2003 before moving to VH1 for its third season. It came to an end after season six just three years later, but was revived last November.
Season 8 will pivot from VH1 to MTV, with production reportedly beginning this month, and an expected air date sometime in 2024.
But the thing that always makes or breaks a reality show is, of course, the cast. So let’s take a look at next year’s lineup.
Macy Gray

Macy Gray found success at the end of the ‘90s with her hit song, “I Try,” for which she won a Grammy the following year. She continued making music over the years, with her tenth and most recent album, Ruby, released in 2018.
Chet Hanks

The eldest son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Chet Hanks has dabbled in both acting and music, but is probably best known for his numerous controversies, including spreading misinformation about COVID and vaccines and releasing a video called “White Boy Summer.”
Tyler Posey

Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey was the most recent cast member of The Surreal Life to be announced, and somewhat of a surprise, considering he’s stayed busy with acting in the years following his MTV scripted series success. Teen Wolf returned to the screen in movie format earlier this year, with Posey revisiting his role as the titular werewolf, Scott McCall.
Ally Brooke
Ella Bar
Fifth Harmony fans will undoubtedly be happy to see Ally Brooke joining the other celebs in the Hollywood Hills mansion. Brooke embarked on a solo career following the group’s disbanding in 2018, and has released a number of singles in that time, although she has yet to release her debut album.
O.T. Genasis

Rapper O.T. Genasis has collaborated with a number of big names in the music industry since bursting onto the scene in 2011, including Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg.
Johnny Weir

Two-time Olympic champion figure skater Johnny Weir will also be joining the cast—and considering how well-known he’s become for his banter as a commentator in the years following his own Olympic wins, this should be a fun addition.
Kim Zolciak

Kim Zolciak gained attention when she joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta back in 2008. Like many other Real Housewives, she made a brief attempt at a music career, and later appeared on Dancing with the Stars.
Josie Canseco

Rounding out the cast is model Josie Canseco, daughter of former baseball star Jose Canseco.
