'90s fans rejoice!
Following the success of season one of That '70s Show reboot series That '90s Show, Netflix has renewed it for season two!
The show follows the kids of our beloved 70s gang. Leia Forman, the daughter of Eric and Donna, spends the summer with her grandparents, Red and Kitty, and meets an iconic friend group of her own, including Kelso and Jackie's kid Jay who she develops a crush on. The series is also LGBTQ+ inclusive and features a sweet coming-out storyline following Reyn Doi's character Ozzie.
Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith have returned as series regulars, and season one featured nostalgic guest appearances from Topher Grace, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Laura Prepon, Wilmer Valderrama, and Tommy Chong.
“All of us at That ‘90s Show were beyond excited by the warm, enthusiastic response to our first season. We can’t wait to return to Point Place for another summer of laughs and surprises. Hello 1996!” said Co-Creator/Showrunner/Executive Producer Gregg Mettler. “We owe the fans, old and new, for taking the trip with us in the first season – and we can’t wait to be there with them in the second season,” added Co-Creator & Executive Producer Lindsey Turner.
Season 2 has been boosted up to 16 episodes from its previous 10. Season 1 premiered on January 19, 2023 and, as Deadline notes, "immediately reached Netflix’s Top 10 English TV list in 35 countries, with more than 41 million hours viewed, according to the streamer."
