Season two of And Just Like That is heading our way soon, and with a special surprise — Sam Smith!
The singer was spotted on the set earlier this year, but showrunner Michael Patrick King recently confirmed their appearance to Entertainment Weekly.
“Two days after they won the Grammy, they’re on our show with a Carrie necklace that says ‘Sam,’” he said. “That is the gold of having done a show that people liked: you call Sam Smith to play this nice part that we needed, and they’re like, ‘Yes, cause I love the show.’ That’s really thrilling.”
Smith will be playing themself on the show, although further details are currently under wraps.
King also confirmed Gloria Steinem will be swinging by to guest star in season two, also playing herself, and Candice Bergen will be reprising her role as Enid Frick from the original series, who served as Carrie’s boss at Vogue.
Victor Garber, Oliver Hudson, John Corbett, and Gary Dourdan had all previously been announced as guest stars for the upcoming season — and King promises there are more exciting appearances that have yet to be unveiled.
“There’s a couple of surprises every now and then,” he teased.
HBO Max released the first trailer for season two last month, with the premiere planned for sometime in June, although a specific date has yet to be announced.
