Michaela Jaé Rodriguez has officially joined the cast of American Horror StorySeason 12.
Though she's booked and busy these days with various films and TV shows, the Pose star recently announced the news of her latest project on Instagram. "Guess the cat’s out the bag,” she wrote alongside a devil's emoji.
The star of Loot and tick, tick... BOOM has garnered a loving fan base who are especially excited for her newest role in the horror anthology series. In 2020, Rodriguez became the first transgender actor to win a Golden Globe for her role as Blanca, and has garnered a dedicated fan base. "Mother has arrived," one fan commented on the news.
Rodriguez rounds out the already iconic cast of Emma Roberts, Cara Delevigne, and reality television star Kim Kardashian. "Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family," creator Ryan Murphy told THR. "Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done."
With this season, Feiffer will become the first solo writer and showrunner of the series. Matt Czuchry will also star.
Murphy has also confirmed that season is themed Delicate and is based on Danielle Valentine’s thriller novel, Delicate Condition. Reportedly, the story will follow a paranoid woman who believes a sinister force is trying to end her pregnancy. According to Pink News, the story has "been hailed as a feminist update to cult horror classic Rosemary’s Baby."
It's unclear who any of the women will play. Season 12 is still in production and is reportedly filming in New York City right now. It does not have a release date just yet, but is expected this October/November.
