Manu Ríos is back, back, back again!
Spanish heartthrob Ríos may not be gracing the halls of Las Encinas in the upcoming season of Netflix's hit teen series Élite, but fans will soon have another opportunity to revel in his undeniable allure. The 24-year-old actor, who gained international fame playing the spoiled bad boy Patrick, is teaming up once again with the mastermind behind Élite, Carlos Montero, for an enticing new series set in a hospital.
Montero, a renowned Spanish screenwriter, producer, and director, is turning his attention to a sexy new Netflix series called Respira (Breathe). Set in a hospital in Valencia, Spain, Respira will follow the captivating lives of the “attractive medical staff.” If Montero's previous work is any indication, viewers can expect Respira to take hospital dramas to new heights of intensity.
"We believe that this is the perfect moment to defend the almost heroic work of our health workers, to tell about their dedication, their frustrations, their joys, and to know that despite everything, they continue to watch over us. Even if they have to go on strike without precedents," Montero told El Espanol.
While details about Ríos' character in Respira remain undisclosed, he will be joining a stellar cast of Spanish actors, including Najwa Nimri from Money Heist, Aitana Sánchez Gijón from Parallel Mothers, and a lineup of handsome actors like Borja Luna, Alfonso Bassave, and Xoán Fórneas.
Since bidding farewell to Élite, Ríos has kept himself busy while gracing red carpets with his daring fashion choices. He is also starring in Netflix's thriller series Muted, as well as the queer Western short film Strange Way of Life alongside the esteemed Pedro Pascal.
An official release date for Respira on Netflix is yet to be announced.
