Layton Williams, already a standout on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, achieved a historic milestone in his latest performance by setting not one, but two show records.

This season, the Everybody's Talking About Jamie star has captured the hearts of fans, even in the face of some "low-key trolling" he encountered online. Dance after dance, he has wowed the audience alongside his partner, Nikita Kuzmin.

However, it was his Week 4 performance that truly stole the spotlight. In a lively cha-cha-cha routine, Williams soared through the air and gracefully landed in the splits, leaving viewers in awe.

His performance also earned him a remarkable total of 37 points from the Strictly judges. Motsi Mabuse, one of the judges, awarded him a perfect score of 10 points, marking the highest score of the season.

As if that wasn't thrilling enough, presenter Claudia Winkleman had an exciting revelation for Williams: he had broken not one but two records. The first was for achieving the highest-scoring dance of the season in its 21st edition. The second was for receiving the earliest-ever full marks score from a judge in the history of Strictly, courtesy of Judge Mabuse.

Ahead of the series premiere, Williams told Digital Spy, “[I would like] the gayest, most pop girl group playlist you’ve ever heard in your life. Just queen after queen after queen and icons — hopefully, they pick a couple of the songs I’ve chosen.”

Williams also hopes to represent both himself and the larger LGBTQ+ community on the show, which he’s totally crushed so far.

Catch Strictly Come Dancing on Saturdays on BBC One.
