The trailer for the upcoming Paramount+ series Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies is here with plenty of reasons for the gays and girlies to celebrate.

According to the official synopsis “the musical series takes place four years before the original Grease; in 1954 before rock ‘n’ roll ruled, before the T-Birds were the coolest in the school, four fed-up outcasts dare to have fun on their own terms, sparking a moral panic that will change Rydell High forever.”

Part of that moral panic is over some gay stuff. In the trailer, we get a quick tease of pink ladies going in for the kiss. The moment is faster than greased lightning, but we are already living.

he series stars Marisa Davila as Jane, Cheyenne Isabel Wells as Olivia, Ari Notartomaso as Cynthia, Tricia Fukuhara as Nancy, Shanel Bailey as Hazel, Madison Thompson as Susan, Johnathan Nieves as Richie, Jason Schmidt as Buddy, Maxwell Whittington-Cooper as Wally and Jackie Hoffman as Asst. Principal McGee.

Since it’s a musical, we’ve got some new bangers coming our way from Grammy-nominated, non-binary songwriter and producer Justin Tranter whose previous credits have included songs for Lady Gaga, Kesha, Dua Lipa, Selena Gomez, Britney Spears, and Ariana Grande. And of course, dance numbers which are to be choreographed frequent RuPaul’s Drag Race choreographer Jamal Sims.

Dance numbers, girl gangs, and sapphic smooches? Oh yes, we are all in on this one.

Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies will premiere on Thursday, April 6, exclusively on Paramount+. Watch the trailer below
