Girls5eva is getting a new home!

It was announced Thursday that the comedy series, which follows a former one-hit-wonder girl group reuniting after many years to try to make a comeback later in life, was renewed for a third season and will be making the move to Netflix in the process.

“We cannot wait to introduce Dawn, Wickie, Summer and Gloria to the global Netflix audience. Well, not fully introduce, if you look closely, Girls5eva can be seen in the background of the Woodstock ’99 documentary setting a porta potty on fire,” executive producers Meredith Scardino, Tina Fey, Jeff Richmond, and Robert Carlock joked in a group statement.

The update was also celebrated by the show’s stars — Sara Bareilles, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Busy Phillips, and Paula Pell — on social media.

“My heart is SCREAMING WITH JOY!!!!!!!” wrote Pell, who plays the member of the group who came out as a lesbian after their initial split. (Her character’s ex-wife is played by Pell’s actual wife, Janine Brito.)

Girls5eva jumping to Netflix after the first two seasons were aired by Peacock is a surprise move, to say the least, although Deadline suggests the series had actually been quietly canceled and shopped around for a new home.

Regardless, fans have plenty to look forward to for this new season, after the previous one left off with the girls just about to embark on their world tour — all while facing challenges in their personal lives that threaten to derail their second chance at success.

The first two seasons of Girls5eva are currently available on Peacock.
