Élite is headed back to Netflix for season six, with new information about what to expect and when to expect it just revealed by the streamer.
WARNING: Spoilers for season five of Élite below!
A characteristically racy teaser trailer was released for the upcoming season on Monday, mostly featuring the familiar characters fans have come to love pairing up and getting down and dirty.
The promotional video helps bring clarity as to which actors will be returning for season six. André Lamoglia (Iván), Valentina Zenere (Isadora), Carla Díaz (Ari), Martina Cariddi (Mencía), Adam Nourou (Bilal), and Manu Ríos (Patrick) were all featured in the trailer.
They are joined by new cast members Ander Puig, Carmen Arrufat, Álvaro de Juana, Ana Bokesa, and Álex Pastrana, while fans can expect to say goodbye to several actors who will not be returning to the halls of Las Encinas. Omar Ayuso (Omar), Claudia Salas (Rebeka), and Georgina Amorós (Cayetana) are all exiting the series.
It may also come as no surprise that Itzan Escamilla won’t be back on Élite after the way last season ended, but a statement about where season six is headed seemed to confirm that his character, Samuel, is in fact dead.
“After Samuel’s death, Las Encinas faces a new school year trying to have a facelift by covering up disasters of the past,” the synopsis reads. “However, the conflict in its classrooms is systemic: racism, sexism, domestic abuse or LGTBI-phobia are just a few of the difficult issues that will run through the hallways of the prestigious institution this season. If those who run the system do not actively take action to address these issues, it will have to be the students themselves who do so.”
The wait won’t last too much longer, as season six of Élite is scheduled to premiere on Netflix November 18.
