Get ready to say ‘Hello Uglies’ again becauseThe Boulet Brothers’ Dragula is back for a ferocious fifth season!
After previously meeting this season's new drag monsters vying for the title of The Next Drag Supermonster, we finally get a real look at what to expect this time around. The new trailer dropped today and from the looks of things Dracmorda and Swanthula have plenty of wicked things up their sleeves in season 5.
While every second of the trailer is giving us the chills, there were a few moments that really caught our eye and raised the hype for what's to come. Here’s what we caught in (our several many viewings of) the trailer that we can’t wait to see play out.
Dragula thrives on the sheer queerdo excellence of its cast and this season is proving to keep that dark tradition going. Unique and grotesquely beautiful this new batch of artists is absolutely killing it (let's just hope not literally).
Sure we tune in for the boundary-pushing artistry ... but we like it a little messy too! So, of course, we love seeing the queens engaging in some drag drama. We're ready to pop some popcorn and watch it all play out.
It's not just the artists who are bringing the dark fashun honey, The Boulets are sheer macabre perfection and somehow they are leveling it up again. These wigs! We’re screaming.
While Dragula has persevered through the pandemic years one place they had no choice but to dial back on was on the exterminations — for the safety of both its cast and its crew. However, from the looks of (one moment in particular) the trailer, the era of jumping out of planes and extreme piercing is back and we can't wait to squirm and squeal our way through watching what happens.
Horror fans everywhere can’t help but cheer over the sneak peek this trailer gave us at this year's guest judging panel. In particular, seeing Scream alum Matthew Lillard and modern master of horror Mike Flanagan behind the judge's table are making our dark little hearts so happy.
