RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season five may not be premiering until next week, but lucky for us, season six is already in the works!
Many fans feared there wouldn't be a sixth season of the British version of the iconic franchise, but today Mama Ru took to social media to announce that the casting for season six of Drag Race UK is officially open.
In a video featuring RuPaul looking fabulous, she says, “Calling all UK queens! Casting for series six of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is open, officially.”
Drag Race alum Jujubee, who has also competed on RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs the World, commented on the Instagram post, “*googles how to become a uk citizen*”
Drag Race UK series 3 winner Krystal Versace commented, “Let’s complete THE GIRLS” and tagged drag queen and TikToker La Belle.
Netflix’s Glow Up judge Dominic Skinner tagged fellow judge and makeup artist Val Garland, writing, “There you go @thevalgarland. Nows your chance to show the others what a real queen is!!”
Season five of the hit British version of the show premieres on September 28 and features RuPaul and Michelle Visage heading the judges table alongside returning judges TV legends Alan Carr and Graham Norton. Heartstopper’s Yasmin Finney, trans ally and singer-songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and X Factor winner Alexandra Burke have all been announced as guest judges.
We may bot have any clue what queens are going to be answering Ru’s casting call, but we do know that Alexis Saint-Pete, Banksie, Cara Melle, DeDeLicious, Ginger Johnson, Kate Butch, Michael Marouli, Miss Naomi Carter, Tomara Thomas, and Vicki Vivacious will all be vying for the crown in the upcoming fifth season.
