The BBC has released a sneak peek of the Doctor and his companion in a chic 60 throwback.

The BBC is keeping sci-fi gays fed this week! First, we got our initial full look at Jinkx Monsoon's character in the upcoming (and very gay) season of Doctor Who, now we’re getting another sneak peek and it's a groovy one, baby.

The network posted a series of photos of Ncuti Gatwa’s 15th Doctor and his companion Ruby (Millie Gibson) as filming continues on the new series. The episode appears to be set in the 1960s judging by its totally far-out styles.

Gatwa and Gibson are bringing the Mod Squad energy in a series of poses — and we can dig it.

Gatwa is having quite a moment: not only is he joining sci-fi royalty, but he will be performing in front of real-world royalty very soon. The actor has been tapped to perform excerpts from a William Shakespeare play at the Coronation Concert on May 7 as part of the BBC’s celebrations for King Charles III’s coronation.

While the play that Gatwa will be performing portions of hasn't been announced, he does have Shaksperian experience, having previously played Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet at Home Theatre Manchester and Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Shakespeare’s Globe.

As for when we will finally get to see Gatwa take on the role of the Time Lord, well, that's still a little unclear. First up, David Tennant returns as the 14th Doctor alongside Catherine Tate reprising her role as Donna, in celebration of Doctor Who’s 60th anniversary. Then, sometime during the “festive season,” Gatwa will take over as the 15th Doctor.

Isn't it just like a Time Lord to be all timey-wimey with the release date? Needless to say, whenever the new Doctor arrives, we'll be watching.
