Cynthia Nixon is taking on directing duties as And Just Like That… returns for a second season.
The actress shared a photo from set to her Instagram on Friday, calling it “double duty” and writing, “I’m thrilled to be back in the director’s chair for Season 2.”
Nixon previously directed an episode of season one (episode six, “Diwali”), and is, of course, reprising her role as Miranda Hobbes in the Sex and the City revival alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis. Filming began last fall, with fans anticipating the stories to come, despite some of the controversial choices from last season.
One of those controversial choices was the introduction of Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez), a comedian and podcast host with whom Miranda cheated on her husband, Steve (David Eigenberg). Ramirez will also be reprising their role in season two.
Not much else is known about the direction in which the show is heading, other than that fans will see the return of John Corbett, who played Carrie’s ex-fiancé, Aiden Shaw, in the original series. Parker teased fans with an image of the two of them just last week.
As for the rest, we’ll have to wait until season two hits HBO Max, which is expected to happen sometime this summer, although an exact premiere date has yet to be confirmed.
