Michael Patrick King reveals how the actress reacted to the news she would have to bare it all.

And Just Like That star Cynthia Nixon is baring it all in season two!

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, show creator Michael Patrick King talked about how sex is going to be portrayed in the new season of the Sex and the City sequel series and revealed how Nixon felt about her character stripping down.

And Just Like That… seems to be following in the footsteps of its predecessor by continuing to push the boundaries of what people are used to seeing on TV. Season two just kicked off earlier this month and we’ve already gotten a pegging scene between Nixon’s character Miranda and her love interest Che, the nonbinary comic played by Sara Ramirez.

“Miranda is completely wide open [this season],” King explained in the interview. “And that’s why we brought Che in, because Miranda had been completely shut down and her sex life had died. So, like Carrie, she’s now open for business.”

Miranda left her husband Steve in season one and has been embarking on a journey to rediscover her sexuality ever since. King said that the new season will put Miranda into a “whole new sexual arena.”

“You have the joy and the comedy of the strap-on and the uncomfortableness of that [in episode one],” he said. “But also, you’re moving her forward because she’s not just following, she’s driving sex.”

In one of the funniest scenes of the new season, Miranda goes into a sensory deprivation tank, but gets salt in her eye and ends up hating her life by the end of it. But King revealed that the only way the scene would work is if Nixon agreed to be “head-to-toe naked.”

“It wouldn’t work unless she was all in because what is so funny about the scene is that she goes from loving her new life [in L.A. with Che] to saying, 'Fuck my new life,'” King explained. “So, I called up Cynthia and I said, ‘Completely naked, would that be okay?’ And she thought about it, and she goes, ‘Completely?’ I said, ‘Yes.’ And she goes, ‘I’m sure you’ll take care of me.’”

But not all of the actors on the show feel comfortable being nude on screen. Sarah Jessica Parker revealed yesterday on the "Howard Stern Show" that she has always been too "shy" to be naked in front of the camera. “I think I just never felt comfortable exposing myself that way,” she said.

King also revealed that this time around they are trying to counteract some of the dark and depressing moments that were present in the first season.

“I think if last season had to deal with death — and it was what we chose to do, we broke the old show to make a new show, and it was really infused with death,” he said, “this season was going to be about life, and sex is such a big part of life.”
