Best known for his work on Lincoln, Selma, Fear the Walking Dead, and Euphoria, out gay actor Colman Domingo is now set to star in a brand-new thriller series from Netflix titled The Madness.
The limited series will feature a total of eight episodes. In it, Domingo will play the character of Muncie Daniels – a media pundit who finds himself in a murder scene in the woods of the Poconos in Pennsylvania.
“The Madness is a fresh take on the conspiracy thriller: turning the genre on its head with its multi-layered characters, propulsive action and swift pace,” Netflix exec Peter Friedlander described the series.
Friedlander added about Netflix’s first-look partnership with Chernin Entertainment, which includes production on The Madness: “We are proud to have such a powerhouse team assembled to bring this dynamic story to life for Netflix viewers around the world, and to continue producing great entertainment with team Chernin.”
2021 and 2022 were landmark years for Domingo that includes his roles in Without Remorse, The God Committee, and Candyman. The actor also concluded his run as Victor Strand on Fear the Walking Dead.
For 2023, Domingo is slated to appear in the Blitz Bazawule-directed movie adaptation of The Color Purple stage musical, as well as the biographical drama Rustin about gay civil rights activist Bayard Rustin.
