Meet Blake Abbie, The Queer Hottie Of Bling Empire: New York
The new heartthrob in the 'Bling Empire' franchise!
Netflix is expanding its Bling Empire with a new spinoff series set in New York City.
The new show, titled Bling Empire: New York, will introduce a cast featuring Stephen Hung, Deborah Valdez-Hung, Dorothy Wang, Tina Leung, Richard Chang, Vika, Lynn Ban, and Blake Abbie. For LGBTQ+ viewers, Abbie’s casting is even more exciting given that he is fluid and identifies as queer.
Abbie is Chinese-Scottish and was born in Montreal, Canada, but he was raised in Vancouver. “A trained performer, Blake moved to Paris to study with an acclaimed classical singing master early on in his career,” the official release reads. “While there, Blake began working simultaneously in fashion and soon after moved to London and was part of the founding team of the industry-breaking System magazine.”
When it comes to his work as a TV personality, “Blake was cast as Thomas in the Chinese version Meteor Garden, one of the most popular TV franchises of all time. The Netflix/Hunan TV coproduction garnered five billion views in the two months of release just in China alone. He also plays a guest role in Tomorrow Will Be Fine (2021) with the Chinese comedienne Papi Jiang.”
As if all of that wasn’t already enough, Abbie is the editor-at-large of an arts and fashion publication called A Magazine Curated By. He is also currently writing his first-ever script for TV.
And... our newest crush.
