UK reality TV is upping its trans rep!

Big Brother UK contestant Hallie is receiving support from another reality star after coming out as trans on the popular show.

Ella Morgan, who was the first trans cast member of Married At First Sight UK, praised Hallie’s courage in being so open with her housemates and the public in the most recent season of Big Brother.

“I don’t think she needs any advice, I think she’s bossing it, she’s absolutely incredible,” Morgan told Metro.co.uk at the Attitude Awards. “To be 18 years old and do what she’s doing takes so much courage. I’m 29 and I’m shitting myself doing this, so she doesn’t need my advice. She’s killing it.”

Hallie came out to all her housemates during an October episode of Big Brother, sharing that she didn’t feel like she had been “100% authentic” with them upon first meeting.

“I just thought I would let everyone know I’m trans, if you didn’t know already. I just thought I’d make that loud and clear. So yeah, I’m a trans woman, if you didn’t know,” she said, quickly receiving a warm reception from the others.

Morgan, who came out on MAFS UK in September, admitted that she thinks Hallie is “incredible” and that “she did a better job” coming out publicly than she did.

Both instances have been important milestones on UK reality TV, and earned support from strangers online who have been happy to see real life trans people represented in these spaces.
