Two videos have fans throwing out their best guesses.

Batwoman might be getting a final farewell on The CW after all — sort of.

No, the queer-inclusive series didn’t resurrected for one last season, but star Javicia Leslie is jumping into the final season of The Flash. And two new videos are giving fans mixed signals as to what, exactly, that will entail.

The news first broke a couple weeks back, although the only official word is that Leslie will be playing a “mystery character,” leaving fans wondering whether Ryan Wilder will be donning the batsuit one last time or if Leslie will be playing an entirely new character on the network’s last remaining Arrowverse show.

Video recently leaked from the set shows someone — reportedly Leslie — in a suit that looks almost like the familiar Batwoman suit, with two key differences — a jagged line down the middle of the bat symbol, which now glows red.

The current theory is that Leslie is portraying a gender-swapped version of DC’s Red Death, a villainous version of Batman from Earth -52, part of the Dark Multiverse in the comics.

If this is indeed the case, Leslie could still be playing the character of Ryan (who picked up the Batwoman mantle following Kate Kane’s disappearance from Gotham). This would just mean that on Earth -52, or whatever equivalent appears in The Flash, Ryan took a much darker turn when she put on a cape and mask.

Complicating the theory that Leslie will be playing the Red Death rather than Batwoman is the fact that the actress recently shared a video from a set trailer in which she seems to be wearing the familiar suit — no jagged line breaking up the bat symbol.

“Y’all, it has been, I feel like, almost a year since I have been in the Batwoman suit,” she says. “And I miss it.”

Could Leslie be playing both the Red Death and Batwoman in her guest starring role on The Flash? It’s certainly possible. And it does seem unlikely that The Flash would go to the trouble of bringing her in for one last hurrah without at least giving Batwoman fans the chance to say goodbye to the character they grew to love over the last two seasons of the show.

But without official confirmation in any direction, for now, we’ll just have to wait and see.
