Our first look at Zachary Quinto in the upcoming season of American Horror Story has arrived and it does not disappoint.

Quinto starred in season two of the horror anthology series after having a smaller role in season one, but hasn’t come back for any of the other tales — until now.

Promotional art of his character shared by the official AHS Instagram show him coiling a whip, and reveal only the first name of his character, Sam.

Details are still scarce regarding the 11th season of the show, which is themed “NYC” and rumored to be set primarily in the 1970s, with a time jump to the ‘80s.

Theories have abounded, with some fans speculating that creator Ryan Murphy might be including a fictional take on the real life Son of Sam murders in this chapter of his show.

The other promotional pictures shared for season 11 have provided no clarity, as they suggest an emphasis on bondage and fashion, which could either allude to the season centering around underground clubs in 1970s New York or just be a somewhat standard AHS aesthetic reminiscent of what we’ve seen in past seasons.

Other actors we know are making a return to American Horror Story for NYC include Billie Lourd, Denis O’Hare, Leslie Grossman, Patti LuPone, Sandra Bernhard, and Isaac Powell. Joe Mantello, Russel Tovey, and Charlie Carver are also jumping in to have some fun.

And promotional photos of Carver’s Adam Carpenter have also been released.

Word on the roles the rest of the cast will be playing has yet to come, but the new season premieres October 19 on FX.
