Hold on to your broomsticks, because Agatha: Darkhold Diariesfirst-look is here, and it's for us!

Ever since it was first announced, we’ve been waiting impatiently for the spinoff Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, which focuses on the witch Agatha Harkness, one of the villains of the critically acclaimed Disney+ series WandaVision.

“We knew we had something special on our hands, but I think we were all flabbergasted by the reception,” Hahn says in the video about WandaVision. “People were hungry for something that felt nostalgic and something that everybody could sit around and watch and wait for on Friday nights. Friday nights! Like who stays at home on Friday nights and watches something with their family?”

Head writer Jac Schaeffer said that she was working on pitches for Marvel, and each pitch she made ended up including the character of Agatha in some way. “I remember Kevin saying to me, like, ‘We really should think about having an actual Agatha show,’” Shaeffer revealed. “And I was like, ‘Where do I sign for that job?”

“To be playing a witch in the MCU is *chef’s kiss* amazing,” Hahn added.

Agatha: Darkhold Diaries sees Hahn’s return as the witch Agatha Harkness, now off on her own adventures after facing off against the Scarlet Witch on WandaVision. In her coven of witches, she’ll be joined by current roommates Patti LuPone and Aubrey Plaza, as well as Sasheer Zamata and Ali Ahan.

The series also sees the introduction of Heartstopper star Joe Locke into the MCU. While LuPone said that Locke will be playing her character’s familiar, reports say that he’s playing the teen version of Billy, Wanda and Vision’s gay son also known by the superhero name Wiccan.

Another rumor about the show is that Plaza will allegedly play a Green Witch who is an ex-girlfriend of Agatha’s.

If the rumors are true, this could end up being the MCU’s queerest project yet!

Agatha: Darkhold Diaries is scheduled to premiere in the fall of 2024 on Disney+.
