Openly gay Olympic ice dancer Lewis Gibson and his skating partner Lilah Fear are ready for this weekend’s competition at the Nebelhorn Trophy in Oberstdorf, Germany.
The hunky Scottish skater posted a photo of the duo on Instagram with the caption, “Oberstdorf ready! First challenger series of the season.”
Gibson has reason to be cocky, they took home silver last season at the European Championships and have been compared to British ice dancers Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean who won gold in 1994.
They performed to a medley of Lady Gaga hits that included a classical version of “Bad Romance” and “Born This Way,” which helped them to impress the judges and audience. The pair also skated to a Madonna medley during their breakout 2018-19 season. They clearly love these pop icons as much as we do!
Lewis and Fear also represented Great Britain at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing where they finished 10th in rhythm dance and ninth in free dance.
Gibson came out in 2020 when he posted a photo of him and his now-husband, Joshua Walsh. The two years later he did an interview with Out Sports where he talked about skaters like Guillaume Cizeron, Adam Rippon, and Robin Cousins as inspirations for being openly queer in the public eye
“I’ve seen so many people who have gone before me and just living their truth and being so authentic when they perform in their sport and really just wanting that for myself as well,” he said.
While Gibson is off training for this weekend's competition, we’re going to busy ourselves by peeking at his Instagram. So keep scrolling if you want to see sexy photos of the ice dancer and be sure to follow him @lewisgibson4 on Instagram.
