The answer will surprise you!

Let's be honest, this January has been arough one, but it looks like some people are dealing with their societal woes by getting frisky on Grindr. And honestly, that sounds like a great coping mechanism!

At the end of every year, the gay hookup app releases its “Unwrapped” stats about the filthy things its users have gotten up to that year.

For instance, the U.S. beats out every other country for the highest percentage of daddies and is the country that loves to send nudes the most.

But it turns out Grindr held back one juicy detail: January is officially the horniest month of the year.

Grindr is seeing “a spike in desire as the new year begins,” with 14.7% of their more than 10,000 users surveyed citing more hookups and lusting in January than any other month.

The queer app calls January “cuffing season’s steamy cousin” and lists post-holiday freedom, New Year’s resolutions, and the cold weather encouraging cozy connections as reasons why Grindr users are so horny during the first month of the year.

January may have nabbed the top spot for the horniest month, but August (13%), July (11.5%), and September and November (11% each), are also popular months to knock boots with a cute guy you meet on Grindr.

So put your stress and anxiety away and get out there are make this January even hornier than the last one!
