Queer Eye Cast Mourns Star Tom Jackson After Death at 63
"Such incredibly sad news."
The cast of Queer Eye is saying goodbye to one of their heroes.
Tom Jackson appeared in the very first episode of Netflix's revival of the iconic early 2000s show. "A lonely dump-truck driver with a big ol' heart goes from 'ugly' to unbelievable and learns how to reverse years of bad habits," the official description reads. It's a fan-favorite episode, especially after the Fab 5 helped Jackson rekindled his relationship with ex-wife Abby Parr.
Sadly, Jackson passed away earlier this week at the age of 63 years old.
"It's with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to a member of our Queer Eye family," the show announced on Instagram with a slideshow of photos. "Rest in peace, Tom Jackson."
Fab Five member Tan France commented on the Instagram post, "Such incredibly sad news." Jonathan Van Ness added, "RIP Tom" with a red heart emoji.
According to his obituary, Jackson died after a battle with metastatic adenocarcinoma, which is a gland cancer that spreads to other parts of the body. In lieu of flowers, his family asked fans to "please watch season 1, episode 1 of Queer Eye on Netflix and tell others about it in honor of Tom."
"He brought joy, humor, persistence, and love to our family," the obituary read. "He is special to us, and we look forward to seeing him again one day."
The cast filmed Season 7 in New Orleans last June, though the premiere date has not been announced by Netflix just yet.
Nope! The show will return for a seventh season.
The Fab 5 travel town to town and give life advice and makeovers to people who don't have the confidence or skills uplift themselves.
